What is a tinnitus masker?

A tinnitus masker is a device or application that plays background sounds (white noise, nature sounds, etc.) to cover up or reduce the perception of tinnitus ringing. AudioNotch's free tinnitus masker provides multiple sound options including white noise, pink noise, brown noise, rain, ocean waves, and other natural sounds.

What is the difference between tinnitus masking and notched sound therapy?

Tinnitus masking uses background sounds to cover up tinnitus temporarily, providing immediate relief while listening. Notched sound therapy removes sound energy at your tinnitus frequency from audio, which may train your brain to reduce tinnitus volume over time through neural plasticity. AudioNotch offers both: free masking sounds and premium notched sound therapy.
