How to Enjoy Events Safely and Avoid Hearing Loss

Many people would be surprised that the very things most people enjoy in America, and around the world, for celebration purposes could actually put us at-risk for hearing loss. Events that exceed 85 decibels will put participants at-risk for diminished hearing. This is especially true if the person’s immune system is compromised and is not fortified with vitamins A, B, C, D, E or manganese. If you feel that you currently have severe hearing loss a trip to the doctors could help you out tremendously.  Your doctor will be able to find your current baseline hearing levels and be able to offer you certain solutions, such as hearing aids to help you hearing issue. Fourth of July and New Year’s Eve

Everyone loves a good fireworks show. The Fourth of July and New Year’s Eve rarely disappoint people, but the noise levels are loud enough to cause permanent damage if people are exposed for even a short period of time. A typical fireworks show can reach or exceed 125 decibels. This is almost at the level at which noticeable pain is caused to the ears. To enjoy the Fourth of July safely, consider investing in a pair of ER-20 earplugs. Onlookers should also ensure they are a safe distance away from the launch point of the fireworks. Noise levels from the fireworks even at a safe distance can be detrimental to a person’s hearing.
